Once a lion in a jungle started killing the innocent animals at random. All the animals remained afraid and passed their days in great tension. One day the animals arranged a meeting with other animals in the jungle. They fixed that everyday one animal would go to the cave of the lion. Serially everyday the lion got at least one animal to meet up his hunger. One day it was the day for a rat. The rat was pensively going towards the cave.
Suddenly it hit upon a plan. The rat went very late to the cave. Going there it saw that the lion was very angry. The lion was grumbling and said to the rat, "Why are you so late and why do you make me so hungry?" The rat said, "I met the same lion like you on the way." The lion then got angry and shouted, "It is impossible that there would be some like me in this jungle." The rat then accompanied the lion to show another lion in the jungle and took him near a well. The rat said that inside the well it would find another lion. The lion then peeped over the well and found the reflection of his own image. Getting very angry but foolishly the lion jumped over the well and got lost. And the rat then got relieved.
In this way, all animals in the jungle were relieved. Actually, the lion is a very strong animal but not at all clever whether being a very tiny and weak animal the rat is very clever. Ultimately, the body strength of the lion gets defeated by the intelligence of the tiny rat.

একটি সিংহের নির্বুদ্ধিতা
একদা একটি সিংহ নির্দয়ভাবে বনের নিষ্পাপ প্রাণীগুলোকে হত্যা করতে শুরু করল। প্রত্যেকটি প্রাণী ভয়াবহ দুশ্চিন্তা ও ভীতিকর অবস্থায় তাদের দিন অতিবাহিত করছিল। একদিন সকল প্রাণী মিলে একটি বৈঠকের আয়োজন করল। তারা এই সিদ্ধান্তে উপনীত হল যে, তাদের একজন করে প্রতিদিন সিংহের গুহায় যাবে। ধারাবাহিকভাবে সিংহ তার ক্ষুধা নিবারণের জন্য প্রতিদিন অন্তত একটি প্রাণীকে পেতে থাকল। একদিন ইঁদুরের আসার দিন ছিল। ইঁদুরটি দুঃখ ভারাক্রান্ত মন নিয়ে গুহার দিকে আসছিল।
হঠাৎ করে সে একটি পরিকল্পনা আঁটল। ইঁদুরটি অনেক দেরি করে গুহাতে আসলো। সেখানে গিয়ে সে দেখল যে সিংহটি খুবই রেগে আছে। সিংহ গর্জন করে ইঁদুরকে বলল, “কেন তোমার দেরি হল এবং কেন তুমি আমাকে ক্ষুধার্ত করলে?” ইঁদুরটি বলল, “পথে আমার আপনার মতই একজনের সাথে দেখা হয়েছিল।” সিংহ তখন রেগে গিয়ে চিৎকার করে বলল, “এই বনে আমার মত কেউ থাকতে পারে তা অসম্ভব।” তখন ইঁদুরটি ঐ বনে অন্য সিংহকে দেখানোর জন্য সিংহটিকে রাজি করিয়ে ফেলল এবং তাকে একটি কূপের কাছে নিয়ে গেল। কুয়ার পাশ থেকে ইঁদুরটি বলল যে এই সেই অন্য সিংহ। তারপর সিংহটি কূপের মধ্যে উঁকি দিল এবং তার নিজের প্রতিচ্ছবি দেখতে পেল। সিংহটি রাগান্বিত হয়ে বোকার মত কূপের মধ্যে লাফ দিয়ে হারিয়ে গেল। এবং এভাবে ইঁদুরটি প্রাণে বেঁচে গেল।
এভাবে বনের সব পশুরা মুক্তি পেল। আসলে সিংহ খুবই শক্তিশালী হলেও খুবই ক্ষুদ্র ও দুর্বল প্রাণী ইঁদুরটির চালাকির তুলনায় সে মোটেই চালাক নয়। পরিশেষে, সিংহের শারীরিক শক্তি ক্ষুদ্র ইঁদুরের বুদ্ধির কাছে পরাজিত হল।
