A Benevolent Person Earns All's Thanks
Yesterday I was going to college. When I crossed the bus stand at Lalbagh, I witnessed that a huge crowd was standing in a circle. Out of curiosity, I went there and peeped through the crowd to see what was happening. To my utter surprise, I found a boy lying there. I went nearer and saw it was Tareq, a boy of my neighbourhood.
The people there told me that a babi-taxi had hit him from behind. He was bleeding. On the instant, I called a rickshaw and took him to the hospital nearby. The doctors there had him bandaged and gave him some treatment. They released him in the evening. Supporting him on my shoulders, I took an auto rickshaw and took him to his house at Malibagh.
His mother was anxious as he had not yet reached home. All the family members began to cry as they saw him in such a condition. However, I tried to console them and asked them to thank their luck as he is safe now. I was about to leave. All the family members of Tareq thanked me sincerely.

গতকাল আমি কলেজে যাচ্ছিলাম। লালবাগ বাসস্ট্যান্ড অতিক্রমকালে আমি দেখলাম, বৃত্তাকারে বড় এক ভিড় জমেছে। কৌতূহলবশে আমি সেখানে গেলাম আর কী ঘটছে তা দেখার জন্য ভিড়ের ফাঁকে উঁকি দিলাম।
অত্যন্ত বিস্ময়ভরে আমি দেখলাম, একটি ছেলে সেখানে শুয়ে আছে। আমি কাছে গিয়ে দেখলাম, সে আমার প্রতিবেশী ছেলে তারেক। সেখানকার লোকজন আমাকে বলল, একটি বেবি-টেক্সি তাকে পেছন থেকে ধাক্কা দিয়েছে। তার রক্তপাত হচ্ছিল। তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে একটি রিকশা ডেকে আমি তাকে নিকটবর্তী হাসপাতালে নিয়ে গেলাম। সেখানকার ডাক্তাররা তাকে ব্যান্ডেজ করে কিছু চিকিৎসা দিলেন। তারা তাকে সন্ধ্যাবেলা ছাড়পত্র দিলেন। তাকে আমার কাঁধের উপর নিয়ে আমি একটি অটোরিকশা নিলাম এবং তাকে তার মালিবাগের বাসায় নিয়ে গেলাম।
সে তখন পর্যন্ত বাড়ি না ফেরায় তার মা উদ্বিগ্ন ছিলেন। তাকে ঐ অবস্থায় দেখে পরিবারের সকল সদস্য কাঁদতে শুরু করলেন। যা হোক, আমি তাদের সান্ত্বনা দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করলাম এবং সে নিরাপদ থাকায় ভাগ্যকে ধন্যবাদ দিতে বললাম।
আমি তখন চলে আসব। তারেকের পরিবারের সকল সদস্য আমাকে আন্তরিকভাবে ধন্যবাদ জানালেন।
