Traffic Jam
Traffic jam refers to a serious road block when there is a long line of vehicles plying on the road. Now it has become a common scenario of roads and streets in the big towns and cities of our country. Thus it has posed a major problem for the people. Several causes are responsible for this traffic jam. Firstly, most of the roads and streets are narrow and unplanned. Secondly, roads are insufficient in proportion to our population. Thirdly, a lot of unlicensed vehicles ply on the roads. Next, many drivers are not aware of the rules and regulations of driving. Many others are not willing to abide by the traffic rules. Again, many others are prone to reckless driving and overtaking tendency. Furthermore, small vehicles like rickshaws, auto rickshaws, private cars, hand carts etc also cause unbearable traffic jam. Above all, the number of traffic police is quite insufficient to handle it. Traffic jam causes a lot of problems killing our valuable times. The office-goers, students, patients and general people have to suffer a lot due to traffic jam. But this situation should be handled rigidly for the welfare and smooth movement of the people. Widening of roads and streets, introduction of one-way movement of vehicles, removal of unlicensed vehicles and imposition of strict traffic rules can help the people live a better and smoother civic life.
ট্রাফিক জ্যাম/যানজট
ট্রাফিক জ্যাম বা যানজট বলতে রাস্তায় চলমান যানবাহনের দীর্ঘ লাইনকে বুঝায় যা তীব্র যানজট সৃষ্টি করে। এখন এটা আমাদের দেশের বড় বড় শহর ও নগরীর রাস্তায় এক ধরনের দৃশ্যে পরিণত হয়েছে। এভাবে এটা লোকজনের জন্য একটি প্রধান সমস্যা হিসেবে দেখা দিয়েছে। এ যানজটের জন্য অনেক কারণ দায়ী। প্রথমত, অধিকাংশ রাস্তাঘাটই সংকীর্ণ ও অপরিকল্পিত। দ্বিতীয়ত, জনসংখ্যার অনুপাতে রাস্তাঘাট খুবই অপ্রতুল/অপর্যাপ্ত। তৃতীয়ত, প্রচুর লাইসেন্স বিহীন যানবাহন রাস্তায় চলাচল করে। তারপর অনেক ড্রাইভার ড্রাইভিং এর নিয়ম কানুন সম্বন্ধে সচেতন নয়। আবার অনেকে যান চলাচলের আইন মানতে রাজি নয়। আবার, অনেকের বেপরোয়া গাড়ী চালানোর এবং ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ ওভারটেক করার প্রবণতা থাকে। অধিকন্তু, রিকশা, অটোরিকশা, প্রাইভেট গাড়ী, ঠেলাগাড়ীর মত ছোট ছোট যানবাহন ও অসহনীয় যানজট ঘটায়। সর্বোপরি, এটা পরিচালনায় ট্রাফিক পুলিশের সংখ্যা নিতান্তই অপ্রতুল। যানজট আমাদের মূল্যবান সময় ধ্বংসকারী অনেক সমস্যা ঘটায়। যানজটের কারণে অফিসে গমনকারী, শিক্ষার্থী, রোগী এবং সাধারণ লোকজনকে অনেক কষ্ট ভোগ করতে হয়। কিন্তু লোকজনের মঙ্গল ও সহজ চলাচলের জন্য এ অবস্থাকে কঠোর হাতে পরিচালনা/দমন করতে হবে। রাস্তাঘাট চওড়াকরণ, যানবাহনের একমুখী যাতায়াতের সূচনা, লাইসেন্স বিহীন যানবাহন দূরীকরণ এবং কঠোর যানবাহন আইন প্রয়োগ লোকজনের অধিকতর ভালো ও মসৃন সমাজ জীবন যাপনে সহায়ক হবে।
