Diaspora
The word 'diaspora' means those people who have left their homelands and settled in other parts of the world, either because they were forced to leave their homeland or they liked to live in their own way. The word is used for a collective group or a community. The world has seen many great diasporas. Among those, the Jewish people are historically notable, who were forced to leave their lands in ancient times. The Aryans who moved from the central Europe to the Indian subcontinent is another important diaspora in history. But the causes of this diaspora are unknown. The Palestinian diaspora attracted a lot of interests in the last century. They are a cause of concern for the world leaders due to their plight. War or the ravages of nature have created a massive African diaspora, too. But the major cause of so much concerns of diaspora in the modern world is globalization.
অভিবাসী
অভিবাসী বলতে ঐ সমস্ত লোকদেরকে বোঝায় যারা নিজেদের মাতৃভূমি ছেড়ে পৃথিবীর অন্য কোনো প্রান্তে বসতি স্থাপন করে, হোক সেটা তাদেরকে জোরপূর্বক দেশত্যাগে বাধ্য করা অথবা স্বেচ্ছায় নিজেদের পছন্দমতো জায়গা বেছে নেওয়া। অভিবাসী শব্দটি কোনো একটি নির্দিষ্ট সম্প্রদায় বা কোনো শ্রেণীর সমষ্টিকে বোঝায়। এই শব্দটি অনেক বড় অভিবাসীদের ক্ষেত্রে দেখা গেছে। তাদের মধ্যে ঐতিহাসিকভাবে ইহুদি জনগোষ্ঠী উল্লেখযোগ্য যাদেরকে প্রাচীনকালে তাদের নিজ ভূমি ত্যাগ করতে বাধ্য করা হয়েছিল। ইতিহাসে আরো একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অভিবাসী হচ্ছে আর্য সম্প্রদায় যারা মধ্য ইউরোপ থেকে ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশে আগমন করেছিল। কিন্তু এই অভিবাসীদের আগমণের কারণ এখনো অজানা। গত শতাব্দীতে ফিলিস্তিনী অভিবাসীরা অনেকের নজর কেড়েছিল। ফিলিস্তিনীদের দুঃখ দুর্দশা বিশ্বনেতাদের উদ্বেগের কারণ হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে। যুদ্ধ অথবা প্রকৃতির তাণ্ডব আফ্রিকাতেও ব্যাপক অভিবাসীর জন্ম দিয়েছে। কিন্তু আধুনিক বিশ্বে অভিবাসনের সবচেয়ে বড় কারণ হচ্ছে বিশ্বায়ন।
