Bangladeshi Culture
Bangladesh has a very old, rich and distinctive cultural heritage. We have our own language, dress, food habit, manner of eating, manner of speaking, mode of behaviour, games and sports, social values and customs, religion, profession, music, art, literature etc. We have songs based on rural and idyllic picture of life. We have folk songs and local jatra-pala. We have our own marital systems based on religious and social rules. We celebrate the Pahela Baishakh as the Bengali New Year's Day. We have our food habit of taking rice and fish. The males wear dresses like lungi, shirt and the females wear sari and blouse. We play our own games like Ha-du-du, Gollachhut, Dariabandha, Bowchi, Kanamachhi and many others. However, though we have a rich culture of our own, it is now the blending of cultures of other countries especially of India and western countries. Satellite TV channels are playing an important role in engulfing the old tradition and culture of our country. People are no longer fond of folk songs or idyllic songs. They are more interested in Hindi and English music. Marital systems and celebrations have also been made short. People are being influenced by cultures of other countries in respect of food habit and dress. Thus we see that though Bangladesh has a rich culture of its own, it is being influenced by other cultures.
বাংলাদেশি সংস্কৃতি
বাংলাদেশের একটি অতি প্রাচীন, সমৃদ্ধশালী ও বৈশিষ্ট্যমণ্ডিত সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্য আছে। আমাদের নিজস্ব ভাষা, পোষাক, খাদ্যাভ্যাস, খাওয়ার ধরন, কথা বলার ধরন, আচরণের রীতি, খেলাধুলা, সামাজিক মূল্যবোধ এবং প্রথা, ধর্ম, পেশা, সংগীত, কলা, সাহিত্য প্রভৃতি আছে। আমাদের গ্রামীণ এবং সরল ও মনোহর জীবনের ছবি ভিত্তিক সংগীত আছে। আমাদের পল্লীগান/গীতি এবং স্থানীয় যাত্রাপালা আছে। ধর্মীয় এবং সামাজিক নিয়ম ভিত্তিক আমাদের বৈবাহিক ব্যবস্থা আছে। আমরা বাংলা নববর্ষ হিসেবে পহেলা বৈশাখ পালন/উদযাপন করি। আমাদের মাছও ভাত খাওয়ার খাদ্যভ্যাস আছে। পুরুষেরা লুঙ্গি এবং শার্ট এবং মহিলারা শাড়ি ও ব্লাউজ জাতীয় পোষাক পরিধান করে। আমরা আমাদের নিজস্ব খেলা যেমন হা-ডু-ডু, গোল্লাছুট, দাড়িয়াবান্ধা, বউচি, কানামাছি এবং আরো অন্যান্য খেলা খেলি। যা হোক, যদিও আমাদের একটি উন্নত নিজস্ব সংস্কৃতি আছে, এটা এখন অন্যান্য দেশের বিশেষ করে ভারত ও পশ্চিমা দেশগুলোর সংস্কৃতির সংগে মিশে যাচ্ছে। স্যাটেলাইট টিভি চ্যানেলগুলো আমাদের দেশের প্রাচীন ঐতিহ্য ও সংস্কৃতিকে সম্পূর্ণরূপে গ্রাস করার এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করছে। জনগণ এখন আর পল্লীগীতি বা সরল ও মনোহর সংগীত পছন্দ করে না। তারা হিন্দি এবং ইংরেজি সংগীতে অধিকতর আগ্রহী। বৈবাহিক পদ্ধতি এবং অনুষ্ঠানগুলোও সংক্ষিপ্ত করা হয়েছে। খাদ্যাভ্যাস এবং পোষাকের ব্যাপারে জনগণ অন্যান্য দেশের সংস্কৃতি দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হচ্ছে। তাই আমরা দেখতে পাই যে যদিও বাংলাদেশের নিজস্ব উন্নত সংস্কৃতি আছে, এটা অন্যান্য সংস্কৃতি দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হচ্ছে।
