A Book Fair I Visited
During last February I went to visit the Ekusey Boi Mela which was full of events and experiences. The fair took place on Bangla Academy premises. It is the biggest and most gorgeous book fair of the country. I went to the fair with my friends. The premises of Bangla Academy took a festive look. There were a lot of bookstalls beautifully decorated. Visitors were moving from one row to another just like the rows of ants. People were looking for their favourite and chosen books. Some visitors were looking for new publications. We visited a lot of stalls and bought a number of books. Of the books there were story books, science fictions and autobiographies. While we were about to finish our visit, I noticed the great writer Dr. Zafar Iqbal sitting on a chair in front of a stall. I also noticed the great poet Al Mahmud also sitting beside him. Two great personalities were talking with each other and curious people were gathering round them for taking their autograph. At last we finished our visit to the fair and I came back home with a lot of experience and a permanent impression of the fair in my mind.
আমার দেখা একটি বইমেলা
গত ফেব্রুয়ারি মাসে আমি একুশে বই মেলায় গিয়েছিলাম যা ছিল ঘটনাবহুল ও অভিজ্ঞতাপূর্ণ। মেলাটি বাংলা একাডেমি প্রাঙ্গনে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। এটি দেশের সবচেয়ে বড় এবং জাঁকজমকপূর্ণ মেলা। আমি আমার বন্ধুদের সাথে মেলায় গিয়েছিলাম। বাংলা একাডেমির প্রাঙ্গন উৎসবমুখর পরিবেশের রূপ নিয়েছিল। সেখানে অনেক বইয়ের স্টল সুন্দরভাবে সাজানো ছিল। দর্শনার্থীরা পিপঁড়ার সারির মত এক সারি থেকে অন্য সারিতে ঘুরে বেড়াচ্ছিলেন। লোকজন তাদের প্রিয় ও পছন্দের বই খুঁজছিল। কিছু পরিদর্শক নতুন প্রকাশনার খোঁজ করছিল। আমরা অনেক স্টলে ঘুরে বেড়িয়েছিলাম এবং বহু সংখ্যক বই কিনেছিলাম। সেসব বইয়ের মধ্যে ছিল গল্পের বই, কল্পবিজ্ঞান কাহিনী ও জীবনীগ্রন্থ। যখন আমরা আমাদের ভ্রমণ প্রায় শেষ করলাম, তখন আমি একটি স্টলের সামনে চেয়ারে বসা অবস্থায় বিখ্যাত লেখক ড. মুহম্মদ জাফর ইকবালকে দেখতে পেলাম। তার পাশে বসা বিখ্যাত কবি আল মাহমুদকেও লক্ষ করলাম। দুই বিখ্যাত ব্যাক্তিত্ব নিজেদের মধ্যে কথা বলছিলেন এবং আগ্রহী লোকজন তাদের অটোগ্রাফ নেয়ার জন্য তাদের চারদিকে জমা হচ্ছিল। অবশেষে আমরা মেলায় ঘোরাঘুরি শেষ করলাম এবং আমি অনেক অভিজ্ঞতা ও আমার মনের উপর মেলার একটি স্থায়ী অনুভূতি নিয়ে বাড়ি ফিরলাম।
