Television is one of the wonders of modern science. In a television the voice is transmitted along with the image of the speaker and thus it entertains both ears and eyes simultaneously. Nowadays, it has become very much popular for entertainment.

It is the source of recreation. After passing a hard working day we sit before a television set and hear music and songs. We enjoy cinema, drama and such other popular programmes. Television plays a great role as a means of instruction. It has made the world srnall. It has conquered time and distance. We get familiar with the customs and traditions, fashions and dresses and culture of the people of different parts of the world through the television.

It conveys social, political, economic, cultural and religious news of home and abroad. Besides entertaining and instruction programmes television broadcasts some other programmes too. Now people need not go to stadium to enjoy game. They sit before a television set and enjoy football, cricket, tennis and other games and sports. We can gain various types of knowledge with the help of television.

Television has a great influence, upon young people. It has a great educative value. It teaches the illiterate as well as the students. We hear and enjoy debates, lectures on various important topics, discussions on science and speeches through television. Young people can be encouraged to be self-employed by watching employment relating programmes.

So, the supremacy of television cannot be ignored. It is a boon of science for mankind.

Trees are the best friend of man. They do us good in many ways. They supply us with food, medicine, timber, fuel and what not. Trees take in carbon di-oxide and give out oxygen without which no animals can live.

Everyday a huge amount of carbon dioxide is being produced from numerous vehicles, mills and factories. And only trees on earth can absorb it and use it in the process of their making food arid at last produce oxygen. Thus trees have great role in maintaining ecological balance. As a; result of cutting trees indiscriminately, the amount of carbon dioxide is increasing day by day. This carbon dioxide is responsible for greenhouse effect. Owing to greenhouse effect, the world temperature is on the increase and consequence creating various natural disasters. 

If this situation, goes on human civilization must face destruction one day. So, we must plant more, trees and stop indiscriminate destruction of forest and trees. The best time of tree plantation is June-July. We have to make people aware of the importance of trees and thus encourage them to plant trees; Trees present us flowers, the most beautiful things on earth. They keep the atmosphere cool and bring down rain. Yet some people are so ungrateful that they recklessly fell down such a beneficent friend:

The little forests that we have in Chittagong, Khulna, Dinajpur and Tangail areas are shrinking day by day owing to increasing population. There are various fruit trees all over the country. But they are not sufficient to meet our fruit requirement. To make our country prosperous arid to eheck air pollution and to save our earth from greenhouse effects we should plant more and more trees. 

Trees make the earth beautiful. Trees give us fruits which are the best kind of food. That is why heaven is imagined as a garden full of trees.

The earth without trees would be a big desert where all animals will die. So we should plant more trees to lead our life happily.
